To be truthful, this kinda pisses me off. Rebel Yell and Yellowstone were my very first bourbons. When I was a kid in my early/mid teens, one of the guys in our small group that hung out together had an older brother. We’d pool our money, and this guys brother would grab a cheap bottle of whiskey for us. Without fail, it was Yellowstone or Rebel Yell. Those were some good times. Watershed bourbon is a very unique selection due to the fact that it includes not only the traditional corn and wheat mixture but it also contains hints of spelled which give the drink a unique flavor profile that you won’t find anywhere else. While Rebel does offer a lot of unique bourbon selections, they mot not all be for every bourbon drinker in existence. Because of this, you will want to make sure that you try all of the various whiskey selections out there so that you won’t be limited in any capacity. This is an excellent example of Heaven Hill bourbon, offering hallmark notes from that distillery augmented by a few surprises. There’s nothing to indicate that the five years in the barrel were too brief a maturation; this has developed a broad spectrum of flavors that are of equal intensity, resulting in a consistent experience from the first sniff to the final sip.
