McGuire has trained her palate to be able to taste this nuance — through years of experience in the wine country of Italy, the vineyards of Argentina, and beyond. Today, she uses that expertise in a location that isn’t known for its wine prowess but someday could be: Montana. The acreage of our vineyard lies in the shadow of Columbia Mountain, which is the terminus of the Swan Mountain Range. At an elevation of 3,390 feet, our vineyard gets an average of 18 inches of rain and 57 inches of snow each year—that’s half the rain that the U.S. gets on average annually but twice the snow! But to continue growing, the industry must overcome persisting environmental and legislative hurdles. ‘A Blank Slate’ Muscadine. The grape is a vigorous vine. Some people have reported growth of up to 25' in one season. To be successful, plant your potted plants as soon as you get them home (usually after threat of last frost, as that's when greenhouses start to carry them). In our previous studies we demonstrated that GSE (as used in the current study) presents multiple positive actions on the human haemostasis system. We demonstrated that GSE inhibits human plasma coagulation, and causes statistically significant prolonged APTT, prothrombin PT, and TT [ 25]. The mechanism of this phenomenon is related to the inhibition of thrombin activity. The GSE inhibited the proteolytic activity of thrombin, observed as inhibition of thrombin-induced fibrinogen polymerization, stabilized fibrin formation and platelet aggregation [ 36]. Additionally, OMNIVIR ® has strong antioxidant properties and reduces the formation of 3-nitrotyrosine carbonyl groups, and diminishes the oxidation of thiol groups in human plasma proteins [ 37].
