About this deal

I don't believe in completely hating any perfume, because it must smell good to someone/on someone right? I smell like i rubbed powder scented baby oil on me and then dumped unsweetened cocoa powder on top of that. She is not matronly but motherly, sweet, soft, loving, nurturing, and at peace, but still sexy as hell. On me sillage and longevity are moderate, perhaps I am partially anosmic to it, I spray 5 times to smell it.

Not quite the motherly vibe of Tresor, not the mature composure of Paris, not the cloying lethality of Hypnotic Poison, but somewhere in there. Elizabeth Taylor's Diamonds and Rubies, Avon's Rare Rubies, and Estee Lauder's Cinnabar are great for the Holiday Season around Christmas. The bright, white florals and beautiful, soft, musky sandalwood and just barely there cedar is fantastic for any afternoon.I have to add that I don’t often get compliments on my perfume these days, mainly because fragrances are weaker and have little or no sillage because of scent stabilizers being reduced in the past few years . He always said that I smelled so good like roses and peaches (that's as far as his nose could smell anyways).

Today while doing an "in the morning before showering" sampling of this EDT I can't stop smelling the back of my hand. I wouldn’t use this in the summer because of the spicy and woody base, but it feels perfect for Autumn and winter. It seems to have a little of everything: a ripe peach at the beginning, going into powders and spices and jasmine and lions and tigers and bears oh my (OK, not really, but it's quite the hodgepodge).

I really don't like cloves and it almost ruined the whole composition for me but I hope that if I try to apply this perfume differently (just a light tpuch with a cotton ball, for example), this perfume could work for me as well. They dressed for themselves because they were comfortable in themselves, and that's what this perfume is about. I wish more companies would make perfume like this: good, cheap, not trying too hard to be young or sexy-- especially since it seems like so many people's idea of "young and sexy" is actually "cheap, ditzy and smelling like a candy factory". So I think it is compatible with my chemistry, and long lasting and a good potency for an Eau de toilete, and it attracts most men. She is drinking rum and cola made special with spice and clover, prepared just for her because she is indeed special.

Diamonds and Rubies and Hermès Rouge also both convey an abstract nostalgia that echoes more history than the years of their releases would reflect. In the dry down, it becomes a smooth, warm vanilla and almond caress, with hints of sandalwood and benzoin "wafting" around it. Once you get past the initial burst of spice, it settles into this dreamy kind of sweet creamy powdery more subdued spiced rose scent, and now I cannot seem to get enough of it.red roses and peaches, I feel also the lilac and some orchid, a bit heavy (but perfect for me) strong and long lasting. I am not sorry I bought the EDT because I still do believe that perfumes mellow over time and our noses change.
