About this deal

And when all of that tension becomes too much, the sexy time is hot, passionate and so profound as they come together, completely undone for each other, and I loved the intensity of their undeniable connection.

Being with your partner may feel like rainbows and unicorns, but that doesn't mean you have a healthy, functioning relationship. The fig tree is there, too, when war breaks out, when the capital is reduced to ashes and rubble, when the teenagers vanish.

It had a promising premise, but the tedious writing and poor execution made it impossible for me to become engaged in the story or care about the characters despite my best efforts.

When several members of the ring soon turn up dead, Billy abruptly pulls Kate out, blowing her cover. I read ACOMAF way back in 2018 but seeing as it's one of my favourite books I remember almost every part. Enemies to lovers romance, steam, broody steaming hot male fae, strong willed heroine, one bed trope and more! Exactly what I needed right now and something I'll always love about fantasy books: a magical world, an evil ruthless villain, a kick-ass main character who meets someone that helps her grow in finding herself. There's so much to unpack here that I'm not surprised this ended up being the author's longest book to date, yet it had me totally absorbed throughout! Then, even if she is unsure about him during 90% of the book, she is the one who run the most after him , and not the other way around. The whole book is written from Emelin’s POV, so we get to experience everything with her – learning about the world and figuring out her place in it.

She is 20 years old, lives with her parents still, and lets them treat her like total crap, even though she has magic and they do not. There are quite some famous tropes in this novel, like enemies-to-lovers, there’s-only-one-bed, and fake relationship. It’s not a really bad one, but it still leaves us on a critical point, and I’m so invested in these characters and their story, I’m absolutely desperate to get my hands on the next book of the series. En evil Queen , well developed supporting characters that stand out despite their brief appearance and of course a fast paced enemies to lovers plot with plenty of intrigue , Fae court machinations with twists and turns . To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average.Bringing their own unique and counter-balanced personalities to proceedings they ask questions such as: what is happiness? I hope that next book will be available as an audiobook because I'm invested in this story very much. When the brutal fae assassin known as the Silent Death sees her using her magic, he doesn’t kill her on the spot as she expects, instead, he whisks her away from her remote island home to the centre of the fae empire, the Crimson Court. No diré nada para no spoilear ya que creo que esta particularidad es algo importante dentro de la historia y mejor descubrirlo al leerlo. There she is given the chance to undo her regrets and try out each of the other lives she might have lived.

In Court of Blood and Bindings, Emelin stays behind at home when the entire village celebrates their hard-earned victory over the Fae who had been collecting high tribute payments for decennia. It's beautifully written, the fantasy world is well developed and fascinating, and the concept of color-magic is so clever. The one part of the story I really liked is when Emelin and Creon decide to test each other's self-restraint, but if I’m being honest, I expected more of these "midnight encounters". The reader is soon introduced to a magic system based on colours, which is something that I personally had never encountered before. In the absolutely packed Act II, the dark fantasy resumes and the Sandman expands into the French Revolution, ancient Rome, 19th-century San Francisco, eighth-century Baghdad, and beyond. In this controversial and exciting listen, Pollan explores caffeine’s power as the most-used drug in the world - and the only one we give to children (in soda pop) as a treat.
