It’s Liz’s senior year, a time meant to be rife with milestones perfect for any big screen, and she needs Wes’s help. series (233) Canadian (190) contemporary (179) blog tour (160) new release (117) Top Ten Tuesday (82) chick lit (82) Christmas (75) debut (70) challenge (66) historical (65) mystery (64) cover (60) Chick Lit Plus (59) author post (55) young adult (52) favourite (48) Canada (45) Etc.

In middle school, he was the guy who’d thought it was hilarious to pretend he didn’t see me when I was lying out, and then water his mom’s bushes, “accidentally” spraying the hose right over me until I screamed. The story follows Liz Buxbaum, who, inspired by her mom’s favorite movies, creates soundtracks for important moments and tries to manipulate her own love life to mimic the scripted ones. However, she can’t seem to find a way to get to him; that’s why she comes up with a plan to win his heart and get him to ask her out for prom.I can’t be tardy to Lit again or I’ll get detention, and I told Kate I’d drop gum by her locker on the way. But noticing that Wes isn’t the annoying “bad boy” she had always thought he was was definitely not part of her plan. When Wes invites Michael to a party, Liz realizes that Wes’s friendship with him can be the way to Michael’s heart.

Lynn Painter’s new novel Better Than the Movies follows Liz Buxbaum, high school student and hopeless romantic. His performance is also just absurd enough to better accentuate the satirical elements of the novel and maybe add some texture to Bateman’s internal black void. Painter hit all the right notes of cringey teenage drama, confusing feelings about relationships and growing up, and the sweetness of first loves. Finance is provided by PayPal Credit (a trading name of PayPal UK Ltd, Whittaker House, Whittaker Avenue, Richmond-Upon-Thames, Surrey, United Kingdom, TW9 1EH).It’s both celebrating the classic rom-com (see the iconic movie quotes at the start of each chapter), as well as deconstructing it. She's having a really hard time with all of the "last" moments that high school has to offer and can't find a way to talk about it with her dad or best friend. Totally relate to one of the main characters soundtrack making as I've been that way since I was little myself.
