why my reading skill? it's yours words only - first criterion ... the rest is mainly prejudice. Then the rest cannot be criterion at all. Then you have only dxomark score. But that’s not the point. Point is, for example, destructive lossy RAW compression in sony cameras without any means to turn it off. But dxo scores are excellent. Because problem in the software or firmware. And for me - my personal average score for these cameras is zero, but I admit that the sony sensors are powerful and state of the art. But Nikon really smarter and handles these sony sensor better than sony – that is amusing. And you cannot find it in dxo scores. People keep complaining it only got a silver but I'm surprised it did that well considering the Af performance if I'm honest.

If Canon had offered an IBIS with this model, it would have drawn many MFT shoppers I think (Especially with price of the OMD EM1 II!). The Canon 80D has the same sensor as Canon’s newest Rebel cameras (the T7i and SL2, specifically), so you actually do not see any image quality benefits by purchasing this camera rather than one of those. You have been given a correct answer - it's obvious that DP score just includes the sensor performance as one of measurements. So the scores can be very different, and I cannot see why you or anyone else could find it amazing. But, it's really interesting to know the answer. So, enlighten us all. What kind of shooting only require sensor score? Without any knowledge about AF performance, ergonomic, fps, features, outputs, software, system, battery, weather proof. And even brand. Samsung had very good score, you know. The EOS 77D offers the ability to shoot up to Full HD quality video clips of less than 30 minutes maximum duration alongside still images. There’s no 4K video option here then, which may be a disappointment to some. That said, we do get the advantage of Canon’s new-ish five-axis image stabilization system for shooting handheld footage and specially designed for video. So, it's not a problem with your gear, actually. Or with your living. It was only your initial statement.The 80D sits in a crowded segment on the market. I compared its image quality directly to two Canon Rebel cameras and three Nikon DSLRs, and that’s not even counting mirrorless options or cameras like the Canon 7D II and 77D. It can be a bit of a headache to remember which cameras do what at this price range, so I’ll go through some of the 80D’s main competitors below. 80D vs Nikon D7500 and D7200 The focusing improvements don’t end here. When shooting using the viewfinder the 80D features a newly developed autofocus module that is a big upgrade on the 70D. There are now 45 AF points compared with the 19 AF points on the 70D, and all these are the cross type. The AF system isn’t too dissimilar from the Canon EOS-1D Mark IV, and out of the 45 AF points on offer 27 remain active when using a teleconverter and lens combination with a maximum aperture of f/8. Furthermore, the centre point is sensitive down to f/2.8, and the working range of the autofocus system (-3EV-18EV) is more in line with its closest rival, the Nikon D7200.

The 80D is worthwhile if you know you’ll be using manual or semi-manual controls frequently. However, photographers who won’t use those features probably should spend their money on a good lens or camera accessories instead of jumping to the 80D. Personally, having used both the Rebel T7i and the Rebel SL2 (called the 800D and the 200D outside North America) alongside the 80D, I was very impressed by all three cameras and would recommend each of them, depending upon your budget. Of course the full frame Canon 6D now falls into a similar price class to the both the 80D and 7D Mark II, making it worthy of consideration. Although it's far from new the 6D remains a solid and popular camera despite its comparatively simplistic AF system. AccessoriesThe strange thing is it's supposed to be optically identical to the STM version which is a pretty decent lens optically for a superzoom, certainly it you stop it down a little. It should give nice, moderately sharp images at 18mm & 5.6 I'm one of the Canon shooters that went Sony. From bottom to top it seems Canon just isn't as interested in video, letting other manufacturers take a perceived leading position and improving cost/performance ratio as each quarter passes. Canon's "color science" isn't a sell for me, I color correct all my footage anyway, whether it's Canon or not.
