4.         The Chairman’s report of Parish Council activities in the last year
Since the last Annual Parish Meeting, the Parish Council has convened on 6 occasions.  Apart from the usual scrutiny of planning applications the main topics this year have been:
5.         Public speaking and question time (this to be limited to a maximum of 30 minutes)
There was a discussion about parking on “Keep Clear” signs in the village.  If the problem persists Cllrs may have to look for a solution.
6.         To receive quotes for the 2007 grass cutting season
Only one quote had been received from Mac Plant Hire.  This was accepted and the cost per cut will be £90.00 plus VAT.
7.         To discuss the upcoming Parish Council elections in May 2007
An election for 5 Parish Councillors will take place on Thursday 3rd May 2007.  Nomination papers are available from the clerk or Richmondshire District Council.
Cllr Hall announced her intention to resign as Chair at the end of this meeting as she has recently moved out of the village.  Cllrs Rycroft and Welsh thanked her for all her hard work.
8.         Authority requested to pay
Viking Direct    £  24.96                       Stationary
RDC                £126.00                       Small Parish Insurance scheme (this will be deducted from
                                                            the precept)
9.         Correspondence
NYCC had sent a leaflet briefly outlining the proposal that the County Council has submitted to the government for a new Unitary Council for North Yorkshire.  A copy of the full proposal can be found on the County Council’s website.
The Memorial Hall committee had written asking for the Parish Council’s permission, as the owner of the village hall, for energy saving works to be carried out.  Cllrs gave the necessary permission.
10.       Planning matters
A full planning application had been received for “Conversion of Existing Stone Barn to Form Dwelling and Erection of Stable Block to Rear of Barn at Westfields Farm, Moor Road”.  Cllrs had no objection to this application.
11.       Date of the next meeting
This will be the AGM at 7.30pm on Monday 14th May 2007.  This meeting was subsequently cancelled as not enough candidates had stood in the election.  Only 2 nominations had been received and there must be a minimum of 3 Parish Cllrs to form a Parish Council.
THE MEETING CLOSED AT 8.00PM
